What have you been thinking about lately?

If you watch the news for even ten minutes a day, you realize that the media paints a devastating picture of our future. From rising food prices, wars, and a recession underway, we are told that there is not much to be happy about. We wonder how we can become successful in this type of atmosphere. Despite the economic climate, we see people who have found their life's calling, are happy with what they are doing, and are making money. We want to know how they are doing it, and we want to do it too!

We all gauge success with a different ruler. Some people use money, others use fame, still others use knowledge. There is no right answer. It is the same with happiness. There are hundreds of things that make people happy, but you have to determine what makes YOU happy.

As we grow up, what we do is influenced by our parents, family, friends and teachers. We are “taught” that to be happy we must conform to what society considers “normal”. However, since we are all unique personalities, what society says will make us happy, and what actually makes us happy are two different things.

By the time I was in college, I found myself doing what others wanted me to do; not what I wanted to do. All my individuality and creativity had been smothered by external influences, and I found myself in a J-O-B that did not give me any satisfaction or happiness. I felt like I was a cog in the corporate machine, stuck in the 9-5 rut, with little relief ahead. This went on for years and I didn't know how to get off the treadmill. Downsizing and layoffs (I was in the financial industry) made life miserable. I felt like I was one step ahead of being homeless. I started to look for something that I enjoyed doing, would allow me to use my god-given talents, and would give me satisfaction on a daily basis. In addition, the compensation had to be something I could live on. I started part time while still working in the corporate world, but I knew I was moving in the right direction.

This was my story until I took control of my Financial Destiny. Now, I am no longer in the 9-5 Corporate rut!!!

No one needs to feel like they are a victim of Corporate America anymore. You can change your life and do it now!
